Year in Review: Total Phase 2019 Highlights

It's the start of the new year, which means looking forward to achieving new goals but also reflecting on accomplishments from 2019 - check out some of Total Phase's highlights from this past year:

Advanced Cable Tester v2 Product Launch

The Advanced Cable Tester v2 was introduced to our product line for testing and validating cables. This is our second generation cable tester with major upgrades and enhancements from its predecessor, and now supports a variety of cable and connector types for USB, HDMI, and DisplayPort cables. It comprehensively tests cables for pin continuity, DC resistance, E-Marker, and signal integrity. This tool is recommended by USB-IF and Apple as a cable testing solution for their technologies. Learn more about this tool.

DisplayPort Support for the Advanced Cable Tester v2

To expand our support for testing video cables, we introduced the DisplayPort to DisplayPort Connector Module, which allows users to test DisplayPort to DisplayPort cables with specifications 2.0 and earlier on the Advanced Cable Tester v2. With one tool, testers can easily verify pin continuity, DC resistance, and signal integrity on DisplayPort cables.

Control Center Serial Software v4.0 Release

We released Control Center Serial Software v4.0, adding support for 64-bit systems and compatibility with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X systems. Along with supporting the Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter and Promira Serial Platform, this version now also supports the Cheetah SPI Host Adapter and encompasses Cheetah GUI capabilities including viewing detailed information about the SPI transaction.

Product API Updates

All product APIs are now updated to support Python 3.7 and 3.8 on Linux, Windows, and Mac 64-bit systems. The latest versions can be found and downloaded here.

Tradeshow Participation

Total Phase participated in 13 different events and tradeshows across the world in 2019! Check out some of our highlights from these events including: Embedded World, DesignCon, ESC BostonESC Silicon Valley, Microchip MASTERs and NIWeek.

Each event was a great opportunity for us to learn the latest in embedded technology while also providing knowledge of how our own products can aid in the development of I2C, SPI, CAN and USB systems. We look forward to seeing you at future events in 2020! Check out our most current events.

Circuit Cellar Feature

Total Phase was featured in Circuit Cellar, the premier media resource that provides critical information on embedded electronics technology. The article, "Attacking USB Gear with EMFI", demonstrates how electromagnetic fault injection (EMFI) is used to attack a device and uses the Beagle USB 480 Protocol Analyzer to help perform triggering and the sniffing of malformed packet data.

Product Update: New PyPI Support for Aardvark

The Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter is one of Total Phase's best selling tools for developing I2C and SPI systems. To make this tool even more adaptable for individual project requirements, the Aardvark Software API is now supported by Python Package Index, or PyPI. This allows users who work with our Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter and Python API to easily download and install all API packages with a single command.
