Total Phase at Microchip MASTERs 2019
Kathleen Chan

We just got back from Phoenix, Arizona, where luckily, we were able to spend the days inside at the 23rd annual Microchip MASTERs Conference! We enjoyed meeting everyone at the show and learning about the various projects of our customers.

Total Phase Analyzers - Live Demos

We had two demonstrations running at our booth. We had our Promira Serial Platform emulating an I2C master polling an accelerometer on a loop via an API script. As part of the same set up, the Beagle I2C/SPI Protocol Analyzer was monitoring the I2C bus and streaming the read and write data in real time. On the other end we were showing the Beagle USB 480 Power Protocol Analyzer’s ability to capture USB 2.0 data between a Mac and USB mouse while simultaneously capture the current and voltage measurements on VBUS.

Learning with Power Delivery and Protocol Analyzers

This year, our Beagle USB 480 Protocol Analyzer and our USB Power Delivery Analyzer had a lot of interest. The Beagle USB 480 analyzer allows users to non-intrusively monitor low, full, and High-speed USB 2.0 data in real time. The USB PD analyzer can non-intrusively monitor PD traffic on the CC1 and CC2 lines, capture PD negotiation, and monitor current/voltage on VBUS and VCONN. Both tools were featured in classes presented by Microchip.

While in town, we visited some of our customers that were interested in learning more about our tools and seeing what’s new. We were able to show our newest tool, the Advanced Cable Tester v2. It tests USB Type-C, as well as legacy USB and video cables for DC resistance, continuity, signal integrity, and e-marker.

Upcoming Events at USB-IF
