The Advanced Cable Tester v2 now Supports DisplayPort Cables


The Advanced Cable Tester v2 now officially supports testing DisplayPort to DisplayPort cables. 


The DisplayPort to DisplayPort Connector Module is now available and allows users to test DP to DP cables with specifications 2.0 and below.

The Advanced Cable Tester v2 comprehensively tests DP cables for:

 
  • Continuity/Shorts/Opens - displaying dynamic visualization of test results
  • DCR measurement for all wires except high-speed data lines
  • Signal integrity of data lines at up to 12.8 Gbps per channel




The ACT v2 Connector Module: DisplayPort to DisplayPort can be purchased separately or through the Video Bundle, which contains 2 HDMI and 2 DP connector modules.

Advanced Cable Tester v2 Firmware Update v2.3.0

The Advanced Cable Tester v2 has a new firmware update, Firmware v2.3.0.

This update includes:

  • Ability to set fixed HEO/VEO values for HDMI and DP cables
  • Signal integrity enhancements
  • Ability to scan cable serial numbers for inclusion on test reports

The new scanning capability is a highly requested feature that will allow operators on the production line to scan cable barcodes, which will automatically store the cable serial number in the test report. This allows for traceability beyond the production line and makes customer support easier after the fact.
