Total Phase at Embedded World 2023
Kathleen Chan

After 2 years, Total Phase returned to Embedded World 2023 in Nuremberg, Germany! The show attendance has improved from the last time we had attended in 2020, and we were able to meet many existing Total Phase customers from throughout Europe. Multiple customers stopped by to say hello or to show the tool they are currently using to their colleagues.

We shared a booth with our German distributor, eVision Systems, and had two live demonstrations. On one station we had the Beagle USB 480 Power Protocol Analyzer – Ultimate Edition used with our Data Center Software to capture USB traffic and power measurements on a USB mouse. The other station had our Advanced Cable Tester v2 testing various USB and video cables. We also had the rest of our product portfolio on display as well.

The Advanced Cable Tester v2 caught many attendees’ interest; there was heavy interest in testing USB Type-C and video cables for safety and quality. With cables increasingly moving to Type-C connectors, ensuring that the cables are safe to use is an important factor for cable manufacturers and companies incorporating cables into their designs.

We had interest in our I2C and SPI products. Many customers stopped by to mention they had the Aardvark I2C/SPI Host Adapter and were interested in sniffing capabilities or higher speed options. Total Phase offer tools to address these needs with our Beagle I2C/SPI Protocol Analyzer that can monitor I2C up to 4 MHz and SPI up to 24 MHz, and the Promira Serial Platform that can act as a host adapter for I2C up to 3.4 MHz and SPI up to 80 MHz.

We also had the opportunity to meet with our European and Asian distributors. We were able to learn more about business in their individual geographies and keep them updated on Total Phase news.

In addition to the Embedded World show, our team explored the city of Nuremberg to do some sight-seeing. We were able to visit the Imperial Castle of Nuremberg, which had great views of the city. Overall, we had an amazing time!

Embedded World 2023 was a great week and we enjoyed catching up with everyone after missing the previous shows. We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2024!
