True Interactive Real-Time Performance

Non-intrusively monitor USB 3.0 and 2.0 and interactively analyze the data as soon as it is captured on the bus. Avoid engineering bottlenecks caused by waiting for captured data to be downloaded and parsed.

Developers can repeatedly disconnect and reconnect a device or iteratively exercise it and see the resulting USB traffic immediately, saving time and reducing frustration. There is no need to reset the analyzer, restart a capture, and wait for all the data to be downloaded and parsed again and again.

Virtually Unlimited Capture Sizes

Users are able to capture more data than is allowed by the 2 GB on-board buffer. Data is continuously streamed from the 2 GB buffer to the analysis PC, allowing total capture size to exceed the buffer memory. Since the bulk of USB traffic occurs in bursts, the Beagle analyzer can quickly catch up with the USB traffic and free buffer space for more data. Customers have successfully captured over 6 GB of data with a Beagle USB 5000 analyzer.

Real-Time USB Class-level Decoding with the Data Center Software

Work at a higher level. USB data is easier to understand with real-time decoding of class-level data. The Data Center Software now supports more classes. See a list of supported classes.

Match/Action Triggering and Filtering

Match/Action triggering and filtering allow developers to trigger the capture, filter data, or set external triggers by matching data patterns, packet types, error types, and more. Advanced multi-state triggers and filters are available with Expert Option upgrade package.

Digital I/O for Synchronization

Trigger an output to a scope or logic analyzer and gain an even better understanding of your system. The Beagle USB 5000 SuperSpeed Protocol Analyzer provides dedicated USB 3.0 input and output to synchronize with external equipment.

The Beagle USB 5000 analyzer also offers four digital inputs and four digital outputs dedicated to USB 2.0.

Easy Collaboration

Easily share data with your colleagues around the world using the freely downloadable Data Center Software. Send saved captures to your colleagues, and they can view the data exactly as you see it.

Customizable and Upgradeable

The Beagle USB 5000 analyzer can grow with your needs. Upgrade options are available to add functionality to the Beagle analyzer, such as expanding the triggering capabilities. Data Center Software

The Data Center Software is the free software that is included with the Beagle™ USB 5000 SuperSpeed Protocol Analyzer. Everyone is welcome to download this software from the Total Phase website to allow for easy collaboration through the sharing of capture data files.

Features include:

Rosetta Language Bindings - Development API

Compatibility

The Beagle Protocol Analyzer was engineered from the very beginning to be a cross-platform device. The software and utilities for the Beagle Protocol Analyzer function on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X so that you can develop software for your preferred platform.

Windows

The software is officially supported on Windows XP (SP2 or later, 32-bit and 64-bit), Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit), and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit).

Linux

The software has been designed for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5 with kernel 2.6. Customers have reported successful operation with SuSE and Ubuntu distributions. Please be aware that there may be significant differences and idiosyncrasies in the way that different distributions of Linux operate. As such, Total Phase may not be able to support your particular distribution of Linux. Support will be offered on a case-by-case basis.

Mac OS X

The software is supported on Intel versions of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and 10.6 Snow Leopard.

64-bit Support

The graphical software is offered as a 32-bit or 64-bit application on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.

Upgrade Options

Expert Option - Advanced Match/Action System and Simultaneous USB 3.0/2.0 Capture

With this upgrade, developers will be able to set advanced state-based triggers using the Beagle USB 5000 analyzer. The advanced triggers include 8 non-sequential states with 6 data match units per state (three upstream and three downstream) along with counters and timers. This option also includes simultaneous recording of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 data for those users developing on both specifications.

4 GB Memory Option - 4 GB Memory Buffer

This hardware and software upgrade increases the USB 3.0 memory buffer to 4 GB, allowing developers to capture more USB 3.0 data.
