One of my favorite Christmas traditions is reading 'Twas the night before Christmas on Christmas Eve. I look forward to hearing the melodic verses and envisioning the heartwarming story play out in my mind. Like Christmas carols that stick in your head, Twas the night before Christmas starts playing in my head shortly after Thanksgiving.
This year seems to be a little busier than previous years and I am finding it difficult to separate work deliverables and deadlines from the pleasantries of the holiday season. Having all these thoughts on my mind has resulted in a new version of my ol’ favorite.

'Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the lab,
not a project was finished, not even a fab.
Deadlines were lingering, we were running out of time,
To deliver the project for the production line.
Consumers were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of electronic gadgets danced in their heads.
Me at my monitor with blur in my sight,
I can tell this is gonna be a very long night.
When out of the blue I remembered an email,
Telling of testing equipment that simply won’t fail.
Over to my inbox I clicked in a flash,

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
gave the luster of midday to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but miniature elves to help without fear.

And then, in a twinkling, I saw the end of my line,
I will get home to enjoy the holidays with my family, just in time.
I sprang to my feet, and jumped with a whistle,
And flew away like the down of a thistle.
But before I left the building I said with a yelp,
"Thank you Total Phase for all of your help!”
